'Beach Flotsam and Jetsam' for budding naturalists
Mondays and Fridays 10.30am - 11.30am
Explore the myriad of sea life that we find washed up on our beaches and learn about how it is important for nutrient recycling. Sandcastles with a difference - we will make some popular marine creatures from the flotsam and jetsam we find on the beach, and then discuss their role in the marine environment.
Suitable for all ages, subject to fine weather. Maximum number of participants per session: 25
Please bring a hat, water bottle and sunscreen, and wear appropriate footwear.
Cost $6.00, and includes entry into the Naturaliste Marine Discovery Centre.
'Bare Bones Science' for budding marine biologists
Wednesdays 1.30pm - 3.00pm
Held in our learning laboratory, you can do a fish dissection and microscope work just like a real fisheries scientist! Find out what your fish ate for lunch and how fisheries scientists age fish.
Minimum age: 10 years. Maximum number of participants per session: 20
Please wear enclosed footwear.
Cost $10.00, and includes entry to the Naturaliste Marine Discovery Centre.
