Watch Tim Darby and the team from Ecoburbia cut, brush and mould a series of amazing marine sculptures from sand. Work on Sandtastic commences on Tuesday 10th January 2012 and will remain on display in the Naturaliste Marine Discovery Centre foyer until the end of the school holidays.
Snorkeling Safari

Date: Tuesday 17th January 2012 (Please note this has changed from 23rd January due to tides)
Duration: 9.30am – 11.30am
Minimum Age: Suitable for ages 10+ years
Cost: $16.00 per child
Ever wanted to be a marine biologist? Join our guides for an underwater biodiversity count and discover the variety of marine life that lives along our coast.
What to bring: snorkel & mask, towel, water bottle & sunscreen
(some snokeling equipment available for use – please inform us when you book if you will need a snorkel and mask)
Scientific Sandcastles

Date: Thursday 12th & Wednesday 25th January 2012
Duration: 10:30am – 12.00pm
Minimum Age: Suitable for ages 4+, however children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost: $8.00 per child
Explore the myriad of sea life that we find washed up on our beaches and build sandcastles with a difference.
Fishing for Science

Date: Wednesday 18th & Tuesday 24th January 2012
Duration: 9.30am – 12.30pm
Minimum Age: 8 years
Cost: $12.00 per child
From the ocean to the lab then to your plate, join us for a science workshop you can really sink your teeth into! Learn all about sustainable fishing and techniques as you catch, prepare and cook your own fish.
What to bring: hat, sunscreen, water bottle & camera (optional)
Reef Explorers

Date: Tuesday 10th January 2012
Duration: 9:30am – 11.00am
Minimum Age: 6 years old (children must be accompanied by an adult).
Cost: $8.00 per child
Discover life in the intertidal zone and learn how these animals have adapted to live in what at times may be very harsh conditions.
What to bring: hat, sunscreen, water bottle, towel and old shoes
